Or is that "Bugger Off?" I'm still learning I suppose. This isn't really a fuel saving tip but it is an aggravation saving one. I've worked a home business for going on three years now (yes I also work part time for the State). My home bizz tends to hybernate during the winter months hence the part time gig....Here's what I've found effective with telemarketers....Yeah...We all hate em. For the longest of time (since I don't hide, hell my name and number's all over the net), I get inundated by these schmucks....From Pens, to banks, to viagra, I can name em all. I've talked to them all. What has it done for me? Wasted seconds, minutes, HELL maybe years off my life. A while back I tried something different. I decided to lose my home land line and go cell only (bizz or not). Yep, you guessed it, they still called. Unavailable, unknown, private, and more and more just three digits like 508. For months my response was to ignore the call (well after hearing all the pitches any catcher would care to take in a career). I'd simply turn off the phone. Did it work? Nope. Then a few weeks ago, ok about a month and a half I decided on a new strategy. I decided to simply pick up the phone and say nothing. At first they would get indignant with their hellos then they would immediately call back. And I'd do the same thing. Now, I'm happy to report just a few short weeks later, I get a fraction of the calls I once got (from those sources). It doesn't cost these bozo's anything if you don't pick up the phone. However, if you do, and simply say nothing they get charged....and you don't have to hear the bullshit! It's a win/win situation. If they're truly stupid (or very greedy) they may call for multiple times before someone tells em to stop or their peabrain catches a clue...It's actually kinda fun!
It's not so much a fuel saving tip, but it's a tip nonetheless....LOL

I was going to compile a list some weeks back of helpful ways to get rid of telemarketers and I clean forgot about it!
Now I might have to get on with that list - but that was one of the ways that worked.
There's also the old "give me your home phone number and I'll ring you back" so that when they say "I'm not giving you my home number" and you ask why, they then explain that they don't want people calling them up at home, to which you reply with "Exactly!"
